An elective course that provides MLIS students with IT credit, this seminar-style offering is a critical and interdisciplinary examination, incorporating human and social perspectives, of technology in the context of libraries and information organizations and of the complex relationships between technology, information, and society. Formerly taught through Winter 2020 as a "special topics" LIS 598 course; became a permanent part of the SLIS curriculum effective 2020-21 as LIS 530.
